Soccer Ball Help
Truncated Icosahedron Net
1) Make a template with 'tabs' for the hexagons and pentagons. 2) Trace 12 pentagons and 20 hexagons. 3) Cut them out. 4) Score the lines between the tabs and polygon. 5) Assemble each of the 10 vertical "stripes" as shown on the diagram (net). Glue and binder clips work best. 6) Once the "stripes" are assembled, glue them together as shown on the diagram. 7) Glue all of the tabs together.

We need multiples of the following items for the mystery party. Your items will be returned Friday after school.

Hippos (stuffed, plastic, lego, figurine, etc.)

Adult velvet (or like) robe or cape ("close" will suffice) :)

Skeleton Picture Groups
Remember to label all of the bones in the song. Spell them correctly. Use neat handwriting. Use thin black marker over pencil. No pencil should be visible. Cut out the skeleton and bring on Thursday.

Teach Speech Instructions
- Use Microsoft PowerPoint (save as 97-2003) or Google slides., or Prezi.com.
- Content should reflect YOUR understanding. Do not copy and paste from the Internet (this is plagiarizing).
- Keep the design very basic and simple. It shall not distract.
- Pick an easy to read font face.
- Consistently use the same font face and sizes on all slides.
- Keywords only. No sentences! No paragraphs!
- No more than six bullet points per page.
- Use images to reinforce or complement your message, not to decorate.
- Use images to visualize and explain. Talk about your pictures. Gesture.
Cite all images below the actual image, whether from Microsoft clip art or a website.
- No animations or useless graphics. (School computers are slow.)
- Have a title slide, table of contents slide, organized content slides, and a source slide.
- Practice! Be prepared!
- Know your slides inside out.

To celebrate October as STEM Awareness Month in Michigan, the Michigan STEM Partnership is sponsoring a Poster and Video Contest called: “STEM & Me.” All school-age children in Michigan will be invited to showcase their creative talent and their commitment to pursuing careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) by creating a poster or a video that shows how they are making STEM Education a part of their lives. This is the 1st Annual Michigan STEM contest. The goal of the contest is to develop pathways to STEM Careers by developing an interest in STEM education and promoting STEM educational opportunities.
